María Ángeles (Carmen Maura) moves through the Tangier fruit market like a fish in water. A Spanish native, in her seventies, graceful, and having spent her entire life in that Spanish factory, she spends her days among memories and the tranquility that comes with having lived long enough. However, her peace is shattered when her daughter arrives unexpectedly and tells her that she has just separated from her husband and needs her to sell their house in Tangier, their only material possession, which could bring her some money and resolve their financial crisis.
